LooseHeadz is delighted to have Scimitar Sportswear playing its part in our attempt to achieve the Guinness World Records title for the longest games of men’s and women’s Rugby Sevens.
The world record attempt will see two matches, one men’s and one women’s, played simultaneously for more than 24 hours and 30 minutes. It’s a huge physical challenge, but more importantly, an opportunity to raise vital funds and awareness for mental health support throughout the rugby community. Scimitar are proud to have produced the playing kits and off-field apparel for the challenge, and delighted to be part of the wider effort.
As a sportswear and fundraising merchandise brand, Scimitar is proud to work alongside organisations including Macmillan Cancer Support, Alzheimer’s Society, Alzheimer’s Research UK, Help for Heroes and Mental Health UK. Scimitar also has a history steeped in sevens rugby through Scimitar Storm, making this a challenge particularly close to their hearts. It brings together two areas they’re hugely passionate about: rugby and supporting causes that make a genuine difference.
Jon Rew, Managing Director at Scimitar, said: “The ambition behind 24/7s is incredible, but it’s the reason behind it that really matters. With our own strong connection to sevens rugby, this challenge feels especially close to home. LooseHeadz continues to make an important difference throughout the rugby community, and we’re incredibly proud to support everyone taking part.”
The whistle blows at Sandbach RUFC at 12pm on Friday 24 July. We can’t wait to see the players, officials, volunteers and supporters come together and hopefully rewrite the record books in support of mental health.
