The LooseHeadz Partnership Programme helps rugby clubs create an environment where mental health is talked about openly and people feel supported.
Partner clubs are given access to practical resources, activities and guidance through the LooseHeadz Toolkit, helping make mental health part of everyday club life.
Yes! It is completely free for rugby clubs to become part of the LooseHeadz Partnership Programme and access the Toolkit.
We believe every rugby club should have access to practical mental health support and resources, regardless of its size or budget.
The Partnership Programme is open to rugby clubs that want to make a positive commitment to supporting the mental health and wellbeing of their members.
Your club will need someone who is happy to act as the main LooseHeadz contact, along with the support of the club Chair.
Partner clubs receive access to the LooseHeadz Toolkit, which contains practical resources, activities and guidance to help clubs support positive mental health and encourage conversations throughout the rugby community.
Your club will also become part of the wider LooseHeadz community and appear on our Partner Club map.
First, check if your club is already signed up! Head to our MAP to have a look. If your club is already there, contact the club lead to find out how you can get involved.
If your club isn’t there, we’ve created a really simple sign-up form, which can be found HERE.
When you’re filling it out, make sure you include as much information as you can, including your club’s registered name with your rugby union. If you aren’t sure, head to your rugby union’s website to check.
Make sure your Club Chair is aware that you are joining, as they will receive an email asking them to approve the registration. Your club registration cannot be completed until they have confirmed it.
We ask your Club Chair to approve the registration so we know that the club is aware of and supports its involvement in the LooseHeadz Partnership Programme.
It also helps make sure that supporting mental health is something the wider club can get behind, rather than being the responsibility of one person alone.
First, check your spam or junk folder, as emails can occasionally end up there.
Make sure you’re checking the inbox for the email address you used when registering.
If you still can’t find the email, please use our CONTACT US form and we’ll be happy to help.
Ask your Club Chair to check their spam or junk folder and make sure the correct Chair email address was entered when the club was registered.
If the email still hasn’t arrived, please use our CONTACT US form and we’ll help you get it sorted.
A LooseHead is someone within the club who helps champion positive mental health and encourages people to talk when they are struggling.
They help bring LooseHeadz into everyday club life by sharing resources, starting conversations, promoting activities and helping members know where they can find further support.
A LooseHead isn’t expected to be a counsellor or mental health professional.
No. You don’t need any mental health qualifications or professional experience to become a LooseHead.
The role is about being approachable, helping start conversations and signposting people towards appropriate support when needed, rather than diagnosing mental health conditions or providing counselling.
The LooseHeadz Toolkit is there to give you resources and guidance to help you in the role.
The LooseHeadz Toolkit contains practical resources designed to help clubs support mental health throughout the season.
It includes activities, conversation starters, guidance and resources that can be used with players, coaches, volunteers and the wider club community.
The aim is to make supporting mental health simple, practical and something that becomes part of everyday club life.
Once your Club Chair has approved your club’s registration, you’ll receive an email containing a link to the LooseHeadz Toolkit.
The Toolkit can also be downloaded, so you can keep a copy and use the resources within your club whenever you need them.
If your club has been approved but you haven’t received the Toolkit email, please check your spam or junk folder. If it’s still not there, use our CONTACT US form.
If something has changed at your club, such as your club name, contact details, Club Chair or LooseHead, please let us know and we can update it for you.
You don’t need to register your club again. Simply use our CONTACT US form and include the details that need changing.
Your club will appear on the LooseHeadz Partner Club map once your Club Chair has approved the club’s participation in the Partnership Programme.
Please allow up to 24 hours after approval for your club to appear on the map.
If more than 24 hours have passed and your club is still not showing, please use our CONTACT US form and we’ll take a look for you.
If you have any questions about your club, the Toolkit or the Partnership Programme, please get in touch with the LooseHeadz team.
