LooseHeadz

Rugby's Mental Health Movement

We're on a mission to save lives.

We’re doing this by placing a mental health lead at every rugby club in the world, & providing them with free tools & training to help them look after the mental health of players, coaches & fans.

We are already working with over 1,200 rugby clubs in 28 different countries, but with your help we can help even more people.

Join the movement, & together we can #TackleTheStigma.

With your help, we are also working to provide access to a number of new resources for our existing & new partner clubs as part of our new 3 Step Plan;

CONNECT – An online community hub designed to bring our community closer than ever before.

DELIVER – Rugby-specific mental health training programme designed for the rugby community, by the rugby community.

SUPPORT – Extending the pilot of our gold-standard clinical support service, providing rapid, & potentially life-saving support to those who need it most.

Our Story

Like most good rugby stories, this one started as a conversation at the end of our rugby club bar.

We got talking about the people we’d met through rugby who’d had a bit of a ‘life wobble’. More often than not, we didn’t really know how to help.

But we couldn’t ignore it any longer. Plus, it wasn’t just our mates - it was the whole rugby community.

That’s when LooseHeadz was born.

A movement. A community. Rugby’s mental health charity.

We’re using the power of rugby to start conversations, tackle the stigma, and save lives.

Why This Matters

On average, 1 person dies by suicide every 40 seconds around the world, that’s around 700,000 people per year. And the problem only seems to be getting worse, with the suicide rate increasing by around 36% between 2000-2001.

We’re changing the narrative, using the power of the rugby community to get people talking about mental health.
