LooseHeadz Announces the First-Ever Future Stars Festival – Celebrating Grassroots Rugby and Supporting Mental Health in Sport

Rugby’s mental health charity LooseHeadz is proud to announce the launch of the first-ever LooseHeadz Future Stars Festival, a brand-new youth rugby tournament set to take place at Camelot Rugby Club in Hemel Hempstead on Sunday, 26th April 2026.

This one-day festival promises to be a celebration of grassroots rugby, community, and the next generation of rugby talent. Bringing together Under 11 Mixed, Under 12 Boys, and Under 12 Girls teams from across the country, the event will celebrate the core values of rugby – teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline, and sportsmanship.

“The Future Stars Festival is all about celebrating the next generation – not just as aspiring rugby players, but as young people. It’s about creating a positive, inclusive environment where young players can enjoy the game, make memories, and understand the importance of looking out for one another both on and off the pitch,” said Rob Shotton, co-founder of LooseHeadz.

Adding to the excitement, the festival will welcome some famous faces from the rugby world who will be on hand to support the event and the LooseHeadz mission to save lives by placing a mental health lead at every rugby club in the world.

With 36 teams in the U11 Mixed and U12 Boys categories, and 12 teams in the U12 Girls competition, the action-packed day will feature group stages followed by finals to determine the champions.

All matches will be played and scored using the new LooseHeadz Fair Play Scoring System, rewarding not just results, but integrity, effort, and respect from the players and coaches.

The day will also feature:

  • On-site food vendors, coffee, and refreshments from the clubhouse.
  • Professional sports photography.
  • A fun, family-friendly atmosphere with music, games, and prizes

Tournament logistics include an early morning coach briefing at 9:30am, with games kicking off promptly at 10am. First aid support will be available on-site throughout the event.

Every penny raised from entry fees, sponsorship, and on-the-day fundraising will go directly to LooseHeadz, helping to provide mental health support across the rugby community.LooseHeadz are also proud to announce that Thrive Sports Co, a partner of the charity, will act as one of the tournament sponsors. Tour packages for teams attending the event are available exclusively through Thrive Sports Co.
